Trump seeks cuts to Monterey Bay and Channel Islands Marine Monuments

From signing executive orders advancing the Dakota Access and Keystone XL pipelines, to appointing a climate denier to head the EPA, to rolling back protections for our drinking water, Donald Trump’s attacks on our environment are widespread and devastating.

His latest target? Removing protections for our Marine Monuments to open these critical coastal preserves to potential oil drilling.

Rolling back these crucial protections would desecrate 11 Marine Sanctuaries and Monuments, including the Channel Islands and Monterey Bay, two beloved California Marine Sanctuaries.

We’re running out of time to prevent these cuts: Demand the Trump Administration stop their attacks on our Marine Sanctuaries by submitting your public comment today! >>

If we don’t join forces and demand that the Trump Administration protect our Marine Sanctuaries, this attack could mean massive reductions for two dozen Marine Sanctuaries and Monuments designated by President Bush and President Obama.

In less than a week the public comment period closes and we’re out of time to protect our Marine Sanctuaries — for good.

Rising ocean temperatures, growing plastics pollution, and acidifying waters are straining already endangered ocean habitats and the countless species that live there. If we allow these waters to be opened to oil drilling and gas extraction they may never recover. That’s why we need to make our voices heard loud and clear.

You can submit your Public Comment today, before the August 15th deadline.
